So B. It

A girl named Heidi lives in a town of Nevada with her mentally-disabled mother and their neighbor, Bernadette, also known as Bernie. Bernadette has this condition called agoraphobia. Agoraphobia is a condition where the sufferer becomes anxious in environments that are unfamiliar. This causes her to be too afraid to go outside her house. Even though Heidi's mother has a mental disability, Bernie finally teaches Heidi's mother how to open cans. Heidi’s mother only knows 23 words including one mysterious word, “soof,” that no one can define even Heidi's mother is unable define it. She's also unable to take care of herself and her daughter. However, Heidi does know her mother loves her and that she has an incredible streak of good luck. Everything she tries, she succeeds, whether  playing a memory game or using the slot machines to make extra money for the family.

Heidi finally asks Bernie how she even ended up at her apartment. Heidi's mother was able to tell Bernadette that her baby's name was Heidi. Bernie couldn’t just leave them on the streets so she eventually took them in. When Bernie asked for Heidi's mother's own name, Heidi's mother says, "So be it." Since Bernadette believes everyone should have a middle name, she was called “So B. It.” Heidi was known as “Heidi It.” Heidi knows nothing about her mother’s life, except her alien name, or anything about her father. The truth about her mother's identity eats away at Heidi. She simply cannot rest until she puts together her mother's past. Why was her mother terrified of buses? Why do rainy days make her anxious? When Heidi finds some old photos of her mother at a Christmas party held at Hilltop Home in Liberty, New York, she decides she must travel there alone in order to discover who her mother truly is. She will have some problems along the way to her destination. Will she able to find her answers? What will happen to her if she gets caught traveling alone? Read to find out!

So B. It by Sarah Weeks is a great book to read. The mystery is so interesting and it feels like you can never put the book down. I recommend this book to all ages that can read and understand this book.

March 16, 2012

My day, at high school, was one of the best days I have had. The school I go to have an indoor swimming pool, two gyms, a theater room and more fantastic rooms. My middle school has eight periods a day, meaning each class would be 40 to 45 minutes long. In addition every day would be a different day. For example Monday would be an ‘A’ Day and then Tuesday would be a ‘B’ Day. One of the days you would miss a class because one of the classes could be elective or something else. High school is different, instead of eight periods we have 6 blocks, and instead of each class being 40 to 45 minutes we would have an hour. Lunch is not counted as a block because it’s only 41 minutes. We have an A, B, C, and D days. The schedule would be difficult to memorize at first, but once you know where to go, it’s easy. Oh by the way I’m a sophomore, 10th grade. If you’re freshmen, 9th grade, it might be difficult to find all your classes since it’s a new school you’re going in. So anyways March 16, 2012 was an ‘A’ day. The first block I had was study hall. Usually normal study hall is at the lower dining hall. Our school has two lunch areas, one lower dining hall and one upper dining hall. Normal study hall was at the lower dining hall. When a teacher is absent, we don’t have substitute teachers instead we go to upper dining hall to do work. Why do we have two lunch areas? It’s because it’s one for freshmen and sophomores to eat together, and one for juniors and seniors to eat together. But that’s not all; the hallways are also a place to eat as well. Anyways the study hall I go to is a smaller study hall called study skills. After study skills on an ‘A’ Day is culinary art. Culinary arts is a class where you cook stuff and eat it. Today my friends Luna, Niki and I were finishing our mashed potatoes donuts. It turned out great, and it tasted delicious! Today I was the head cook but all I did was help. Afterwards I had gym. My class went to the smaller gym to play basketball. After gym I had lunch! I sat with my friends in the hallway. It’s quite annoying to get lunch since I sit all the way near the main entrance. George, my friend, made me so worried because he thought we had Geometry homework. I ran back and forth to get my stuff since we had the same Geometry class together. I wanted to strangle him because I had to run back and forth. Well it was a good work out. In the meanwhile I went to the lower dining to check on my other friends. One of my classmates made a cake for my other friend because her birthday was next week and she couldn’t make it next week. The cake was huge and it looked like a huge donut. Next class I had was, of course, Geometry. It was so boring that I don’t remember what happened. Fifth block was Biology. In Biology we worked on a lab all class long. Last block was Language arts. In Language arts we finished reading the book, The House on Mango Street and it was pretty short. After that we had the rest of the period free time but I had nothing to do. After class I went upstairs to get my stuff and head on to the swimming pool. Along the way there I saw my classmate. We chatted as we walked down the hallway. When we had to go into our separate ways I realized that I wanted to talk to him more. Swimming, I never swam for such a long time and now I’m starting to like it now. After swimming I took a shower and waited for my friend to change. We stood in near the main entrance until I had to leave because my ride was here.

Spirited Away will blow your mind away~

The movie is directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This movie is about a girl, and her name is Chihiro. She is trapped in a dream world, where her parents are turned to pigs, and she cannot control it. No one else is controlling it. She meets some good mythical creatures that seem human and one evil and mysterious witch. In this movie her goal is to return back to her world by the help of her friends. I personally love this movie because the animations are wonderful, and the movie itself is exciting! My favorite part of this movie is meeting the evil and mysterious witch's twin sister and also meeting No-Face. I personally love all Miyazaki's movies because they're all very exciting. I recommend YOU to watch this movie! You should all pay attention to the music because it's really pretty. If I had to rate this movie it would be 4.5 out of 5.
